IMPROVING BALANCE & PREVENTING FALLS: What your doctor didn’t tell you!
Presented by Ernie Adams (FREE 1-hour presentation + 30-minute Q&A)

Poor balance and the fear of falling can drastically affect confidence and your ability to prevent falls.  If you think you have bad balance and can't do anything about it, you're wrong! This presentation will introduce you to new ways to think about balance and give you practical exercises to help yourself. These include:

  • ‘Dynamic Sitting’ to wake up your feet, connect to your core, and increase spinal flexibility.

  • ‘Flexible Standing’ to sharpen reflexes and integrate visual and vestibular balance senses.

  • ‘Easy Walking’ to keep you centered, increase your stride, propulsion and power.

NOTE: Participants will be able to use their walkers, walking sticks, and crutches. They will also have chairs to hold onto while standing. They should not feel obligated to do all exercises, only what feels comfortable and safe. Just listening and possibly doing the sitting exercises can give them a lot of benefit.
