Arlington Community Church Covid-19 Protocols
COVID-19 PREVENTION Guidelines for worship &
Church Sponsored Events
Revised January 25, 2024
On January 9, 2024, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued new guidance for isolation after testing positive for COVID. You can read the announcement HERE.
The new CDPH guidelines advise those with COVID-19 symptoms to stay home until (1) they are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication and (2) they are symptom-free or symptoms are mild and improving. This is a move away from the previous recommendation for five days of isolation even if someone has no symptoms.
CDPH still advises those with COVID to wear face masks when around other people indoors for 10 days after becoming sick or testing positive, though they don’t need a mask if they have two negative tests at least one day apart.
The CDPH also urges those with COVID to avoid contact with people at higher-risk for severe disease, including those over 65 years old, people with weakened immunity or those living in care facilities, for 10 days.
Reminder: Although isolation requirements have eased, we note that the numbers of COVID cases are rising in our area. We urge you to continue to follow prudent practices: wash hands, wear masks in crowded places, especially indoors, stay home if you feel sick, and keep up with vaccinations.
Questions/Comments? The Health and Safety Committee (Faith Abel, Eleanor Crump, Nina Harmon, Susan Russell and Linda Young) would love to hear from you.
