Pastoral candidate, Rev. Jennifer Chapman,will be preaching on the story of Jesus’ ascension in Acts 1, a story that speaks to times of change and uncertainty, inviting us to wait prayerfully for the Holy Spirit to come. The Spirit that came at Pentecost comes again and again, empowering us in new ways. As we wait, may we listen expectantly for the voice of our still-speaking God. Tim K. Murphy will lead the ACC Ensemble through this week’s hymns and diverse selections from Irving Berlin, Steve Winwood, Duke Ellington, Mark D. Sanders and Tia Sillers. Eleanor Crump will light the candles for Ukraine, Syria, Turkey, and for those suffering from gun violence as well as read Gathering Words & Scripture from Acts 1:1-14, New Revised Standard Version.
