Virtual Potluck: "ACC's New Labyrinth"
Thursday, August 6, Video, 4 pm, Zoom Discussion, 5:10 pm
Remember those community potlucks? Fondly, I hope. We’d gather for the social time, enjoy a great meal and then have a stimulating discussion or film or speaker.
Now isn’t the time to repeat this tradition. But, we can do parts of that activity. Curious? Read on…
(Start with this video: https://vimeo.com/146190759 -- short and sets the subject matter for the major event on 8/6.)
Then join us on Thursday, in your home with the computer on. We suggest a BYO-Beverage and Snack at 4pm. Start with a lengthy, but very interesting film about the history and tradition of the labyrinth. Our ACC labyrinth was designed and built by Lars Howlett. This video is a lecture, with LOTS of pictures, from a presentation at Middlebury College, and is a great way to learn about labyrinths.
Here is the link for Lars' lecture :
While you’re enjoying your snacks, and learning from the YouTube video, consider this question for the discussion on Zoom after the video: What do you think ACC might do to get the word out to the larger community about our Labyrinth ? We believe we have a real spiritual treasure right on our own patio and we could do more, perhaps, to let this light shine.
Our Zoom discussion will begin at 5:10 to give you a little break between - and be 45 minutes or so. Questions? Please email Ruth Robinson at ruthrobinson2@icloud.com .
