Chariots of Fire

On Friday, March 22 Faith Formation will present its monthly film offering, Chariots of Fire (1981) in the ACC Fireside Room.

Eric Liddell runs to honor God (“When I run, I feel His pleasure”), Harold Abrahams runs against discrimination (“I don’t run to take beatings.  I run to win”). Seeing that film after 43 years, we still feel the spirit that drove these young men in the 1924 Olympics in Paris.  And who can forget the score by Vangelis that calls up that spirit.  Ian Charleson is Eric Liddell, and Ben Cross is Harold Abrahams.

Please plan to arrive around 1:30 to allow time to visit and settle in to watch the two-hour film starting at 1:45. Of course there will be popcorn and lemon water to enjoy during the film and an after-film discussion.
