In-Person/Live-Stream Worship: World Communion Sunday

  • Arlington Community Church 52 Arlington Avenue Kensington, CA, 94707 United States (map)

On this World Communion Sunday, as we wrap up the Season of Creation, we'll feast with Christians around the world as we consider how we can come together to care for our common home. In our final section of Braiding Sweetgrass, author Robin Wall Kimmerer introduces the Windigo, a terrifying monster and a metaphor for the greed and over-consumption that lead to the destruction of our planet. Can monsters like Windigo be defeated? In Hebrews 1 and 2, we find a hopeful answer in Jesus, the "pioneer of our salvation" who leads us to safety and wholeness as we accept our responsibility as care-takers of the earth. Rev. Jen Chapman will preach and lead the service.

The ACC choir will be back this Sunday, singing "Prayer of St. Francis" and Joe Pratt will share an original song for the Offertory. Our Music Director, Jeffrey Paul, will lead the choir and the hymns, and Tim K. Murphy will provide music on piano.

Stay after the service for clergy appreciation ice cream sundaes!
