“The Death Doula’s Guide to Living Fully and Dying Prepared: an essential workbook to help you reflect back, plan ahead, and find peace on your journey” by Francesca Lynn Arnoldy
Discussion will be led by Susan Francis.
Here is an amazing experience put into book form. This guide is not just a read — there are numerous reads between its covers. There are also numerous “exercises” (mental, physical, and spiritual). Each section of the book is an invitation to participate, not an assigned task. All genres of expression are encouraged in whichever activities presented are chosen — and in whatever order they are chosen. This tool is not “age-related” — it can be used at whatever age or stage of life you find yourself, because it enhances the whole life experience.
It would not be important for one to have bought, started, or finished the book. I have not “finished” it yet — and may not be finished for some time. It’s more of an opportunity to involve yourself in any aspect of the process presented by the book. Someone might like to sImply read it, cover to cover, and they would probably gain a lot of insight from the reading. The booK actually performs the role of the doula, giving the reader/participant a variety of opportunities to make sense of all aspects of life at any particular phase of adult life. In the preparation for dying, she presents many ways of dealing with the past, managing the present, covering all the bases, and putting alls the ducks in a row, so that the ends of life is not hampered by stress, fear, or regret.
