January 17, 2022 Memoir Group:
National Elementary Teacher Day
Yes, it is also MLK Day in 2022. But for our Memoir Group, let’s reflect on a teacher or two who had a significant impact on our formative years. And impact might be positive or negative. Here’s what the internet says about National Elementary Teacher Day:
Elementary School Teacher Day is celebrated on January 17 every year to appreciate the people who work with children in their formative years. Elementary schools are part of primary education for students around the age of four to eleven, from pre-kindergarten or kindergarten to fifth grade. These schools teach us socialization and basic academic skills — fundamentals that will help students throughout their lives. Elementary teachers are often the first educators in our lives who kindle the knack of learning in us.
Some of you have been teachers, but all of us have experienced a teacher who made a difference in our lives. Let’s see what we come up with. Let Ruth Robinson know if you would like to participate, and she’ll send you a Zoom link. Monday, 1/17, 10-11am.
