May 18th, 2020 Memoir Group Writing Prompt
On Sundays, Nate leads us in the Lord’s Prayer. We ask “give us this day our daily bread”. Probably without much thought, frankly. I bet if we did think about it, we’d figure this meant bodily food. What will we have for dinner? But what about other kinds of ‘bread’? I love this quote from Anne Lamott’s book, Grace (Eventually): “There are many kinds of bread: kindness, companionship, besides the flour-and-yeast kind.” For our writing prompt, try this one:
Was there a time in your life when you needed daily bread, but NOT the flour-and-yeast kind? Can you share that time with us?
