Our speaker is Kensington Interim Police Chief Steve Simpkins. Chief Simpkins is here on a contract with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department, where he holds the rank of Captain. Before coming to the Kensington Police Department, Chief Simpkins was the Chief of Police for the contracted city of Danville, where he reduced crime by 31%, increased community outreach programs, introduced a bi-annual police department open house, implemented a body worn camera system for all officers and a town-wide automated license plate reader camera system. He says he loves what he does and has lots of stories to tell! Program presented by the Board of Buildings and Grounds Trustees.
